Wang Huangsheng was born in 1956, obtained his master from the Nanjing Art Institute (Art History) in 1990 and his doctorate in 2006 respectively. He is now the Director of CAFA Art Museum, Committee of the Chinese Art Society, Vice Chairman of the Professional Committee of the National Art Gallery, Member of the Expert Committee of the China Museum. Wang is also a specially appointed professor at the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts, Nanjing Art Institute, South China Normal University and an outstanding art expert who is funded by the State Council. In China, Wang is reputed as a first-class national artist. In 2004 he obtained the ‘Ordre des Arts et des Lettres’ knight medal awarded by the government of France. In 2006 he obtained the knight medal award from the President of Italy.
