The CCAA’s new Cube center launches on the afternoon of November 23, with a special event featuring Hans-Ulrich Obrist, Director of the Serpentine Gallery (London, UK), and a jury member of this year’s CCAA. He will be participating in an improvised talk entitled ‘Hans-Ulrich& Me’ that centers on contemporary art criticism and curatorship, and includes five Chinese curators. These conversations are intended to find proper solutions for the questions raised, yet some inspiring conclusions may pop up during the process. As a leading international curator, Hans-ulrich works with a tremendous momentum in the art scene. He is on the CCAA art critic jury the next day (24th). As an extension of the critic award, this talk shares the interests of critique and curatorship beyond the award. On the 25th, at 10am, co-organised by CCAA and CAFA Art Museum, Hans gives his first-ever speech in China entitled ‘Curating of the 21st Century,” presenting his advancing ideas and practice of contemporary art curating at the lecture theatre.
